Saigon is the largest city in the country and asserted itself very early as the economic capital, it includes 12 urban districts and 6 rural districts spread over more than 2,000 km2. The 800-seat building was used as the Lower House of South Vietnam; after 1956; it was not until 1975 that it regained its theatrical role and was restored in 1995.
