Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province
Vung Tau is a port city and the capital of the industrial province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau, located at the end of a small peninsula in southern Vietnam.
A former French colonial town, it is now a very popular seaside town attracting many weekend visitors.
Vung Tau (formerly Cap St-Jacques) is the nearest seaside resort to Ho Chi Minh City and can be reached by a scenic hydrofoil ride (2h) on the Sài Gòn River or by a fairly winding road.

Vung Tau has a tropical but milder climate due to the influence of the sea. There is no winter in Vung Tau, so visitors can enjoy a beach holiday any time of the year. The climate is still more pleasant or even ideal from January to April and in December.
The temperatures are pleasant all year round. Average temperatures range from 22°C in April to 31°C in August and the maximum temperature in Vung Tau averages 30°C.
The sea temperature is very pleasant all year round! It varies from 25°C to 29°C. But for swimming, the best time for a suitable water temperature is from March to December.
