Thua Thien Hue Province
A city in central Vietnam, Hue was the seat of the Nguyen Dynasty emperors and the country’s capital from 1802 to 1945. It has held an important place in Vietnamese history. Indeed, it was the political, cultural and religious center of the country during the 19th century.
The group of monuments of Hue has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1993. It is an exceptional example of an eastern feudal capital.
The best time to visit Hue
The best time to visit Hue and its surroundings is from January to September, but the weather is really pleasant from February to April, July and August. We recommend the months from February to June to visit Hue.
The temperatures are pleasant all year round. Average temperatures range from 24°C in January to 35°C in June, with an average maximum temperature of 30°C over the year.

One of its main attractions is its large 19th century citadel which is surrounded by moats and thick stone walls. It includes the Imperial City, with palaces and shrines, the Forbidden Purple City, former residence of the Emperor, and a replica of the Royal Theatre.
