Thac Ba Lake is 180 km from Hanoi and 13 km from Yen Bai town. Thac Ba Lake is an artificial lake in Yen Bai Province, Vietnam, created by the construction of the Thac Ba Hydroelectric Power Station in the 1960s-1970s.
The name Thac Ba was given to the lake by locals in memory of the Thac Ba waterfall which once flowed at the location of the lake. The lake is also nicknamed “Halong Bay in the high mountains” with its many hidden caves. It was recognized as a National Historic Landmark in 1996.
Sculpted by more than 1,300 multifaceted islets, its exceptional natural setting can be admired endlessly on a relaxing cruise at any time of the day. Sprinkled with hundreds of islets shaped like upturned bowls and blanketed in dense vegetation, Thac Ba Lake indeed effortlessly exudes a world’s first morning vibe.

The climate is correct from January to May and from September to December, but the weather is really pleasant from October to December.
