Hoang Su Phi is a rural district of Ha Giang Province in the Northwest region of Vietnam, about 300 km as the crow flies from Hanoi. The district capital is in Vinh Quang. It is a mountainous district with magnificent landscapes, a few kilometers from the border with China.

Located on the path that connects the northwest and northeast of the country, Hoang Su Phi is blessed with exceptional beauty and diverse culture. Hoang Su Phi is naturally divided by high mountains, rivers and rivers.

Classified as national heritage, these rice terraces amply deserve their fame for their exceptional natural and cultural values.

This region, dominated by the green color of its lush fauna, is also home to twelve different ethnic minorities.

Between April and June, during the “water season”, the terraced fields are flooded, in preparation for the planting of rice. Hoang Su Phi offers in spring the opportunity to admire the famous landscapes of the North-West terraces, forming beautiful “mirrors of the sky” in pure blue. “Crystal pools” glisten on the mountain sides, also reflecting wandering clouds. Then, in July and August, the rice stalks started to grow and the mountains became more green.

From September to October, the rice plants, ready to be harvested, gild the mountainous area, as far as the eye can see, taking your breath away. This is therefore the best time to take pictures of the splendid terraces. The month of September is therefore ideal to enjoy the show.
