Located in the Southeast region, Tay Ninh is a Vietnamese city, capital of the province of the same name, which is located three hours by road from Ho Chi Minh City, 1h30 from the Cu Chi tunnels and 40 km from the border with Cambodia.

Once a Cambodian (Khmer) territory occupied in the early 19th century by the Vietnamese under Emperor Gia Long, the region is home to Khmer, Chinese and Cham minorities.

It is famous for its large Caodaist temple which attracts many visitors and pilgrims every year. The region is also known for its large rubber and sugar plantations.
